“I have been diagnosed, treated, and hospitalized for Major/Clinical Depression. During this time, I have suffered through multiple antidepressant treatments (at least 40 different antidepressant medications), with severe and unusual allergic reactions. I was hospitalized twice for depression and have undergone a total of 45 ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy) treatments. Although these treatments slightly lifted my depression for a short period of time, it was at the expense of extreme memory loss, which significantly delayed my return to work.
After starting TMS Therapy, I began to notice subtle changes in my mood. I no longer had to struggle to get myself out of bed in the morning, and the constant feelings of sadness, worthlessness, hopelessness, and isolation were gone. Most importantly, not only was the dark cloud that consumed my life beginning to lift, but I no longer had any more thoughts of suicide. The best part of this was that the darkness was lifting with not intolerable side effects that I had consistently experienced with other treatment methods in the past.
The initial course of TMS Therapy was very effective for me, without the use of any antidepressant medications. In my case, in order to stay at the level that allows me to function well and enjoy life, I return for a few maintenance treatments approximately every two months.
TMS Therapy has been a life-saving treatment for me that vastly improved the quality of my life; actually, it has given me a new lease on life.
In addition to this therapy, I have been truly blessed to be under the care of Dr. Sikowitz and his nurse, Kim Sikowitz. Through the years, I have been treated by many doctors and psychiatrists, and I can honestly say that I have never met one like Dr. Sikowitz. Dr. Sikowitz possesses the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and care, and I consider myself very fortunate and proud to call him my doctor.” – Martha S.
“I have suffered from Major Depression since 1997. During this time I had tried most antidepressants prescribed by various doctors. I was hospitalized for my depression which had immobilized me. I went to an outpatient program after leaving the hospital but my depression did not improve. I never had any effective relief from my depression and my doctor recommended TMS. After I received TMS therapy, my depression had improved. Before TMS, I had been unable to get out of bed and had little energy or motivation to perform simple tasks such as emptying the dishwasher or getting out of the car to go into my house. I would be at home staring at the wall for hours. After TMS, I could get out of bed and perform tasks with much less effort. I was able to focus. I shopped, cooked dinner, cleaned, and completed paperwork. Improvement in my depression would not have been possible without TMS.” – Jill D.

I was severely depressed over a period of three years. I tried several antidepressants but nothing really seemed to work. I had a severe allergic reaction. My family was very poorly impacted by the whole problem of my depression. By the end of the TMS treatment, things were better than I could have imagined. After that sixth week, I was so excited that my life was starting to resume. It could actually get better and that I had more to look forward to. – Garret A.
During that time, it was probably the darkest time in my life. I was sad and miserable all the time. Before when I was going through depression, I felt hopeless. Since TMS, my perspective on life has been so positive that I know there is hope. – Martha F.
